Disaster Relief Training

2022-01-28 08:30 2022-01-28 03:00 America/Chicago Disaster Relief Training

Don’t just react to big needs, but prepare and respond meaningfully in times of crisis and disaster in our area.  The LBC disaster relief training program will connect you to thousands of other Christian brothers and sisters in the second-largest Disaster Relief organization in the U.S.  Disaster Relief volunteers mobilize within days across the state after disasters to feed thousands, minister to the hurting, help clean clothes and allow people to shower, or, if you’re up for it, help gut-out houses and remove fallen trees and debris. Friday is additional training for chaplains–you don’t need to be a pastor to be a chaplain, and female chaplains are not only welcome, they are sorely needed.  Saturday provides opportunities to train to run shower/clothing stations, feeding, chainsaw, flood, fire, and assessment (before you sign up for assessment, we recommend you have chainsaw and flood experience).
