MissionLab

MissionLab is a ministry of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and has been loving New Orleans in the name of Jesus since 2000. The ministry has grown over the past decade into a year-round program for more than just youth groups, serving groups of all sizes and ages, including family groups with children. MissionLab believes that anyone can be a missionary, and New Orleans is the perfect training ground.

Global Maritime Ministries

Global Maritime Ministries exists to provide holistic Christian ministry by meeting the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of seafarers and maritime workers. Global Maritime Ministries provides opportunities for mission teams to reach thousands of international cruise ship and cargo ship personnel with God’s love and grace.

Needs:

  • Local volunteers to help at the centers on a regular basis: Monday – Saturday nights, 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
  • Volunteers that would host a weekly lunch for port workers at the center in New Orleans
  • Volunteers with a CDL license that would drive on a regular basis
  • Small volunteer teams of 15 or less to come for a weekend to a week to help with the ministry

New Orleans Mission

Founded in 1989, the New Orleans Mission and its services have helped thousands of struggling people jumpstart their lives by temporarily providing clothing, food, shelter and job placement, with all of the resources coming by generous donations and grants. Located in the heart of the downtown area, the New Orleans Mission is the largest private service provider for the homeless in the city.

Needs:

  • Days and Times: Monday – Thursday 10:00 am-2:00 pm and 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
  • Groups of 8 or less at any given time – Volunteers must be at least 18 years old
