THE SECOND SUNDAY OF ADVENT
(The Coming of Christ as Foretold in the Prophets)
Let us praise God
For the coming of His Son
The long awaited Messiah
Our beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Who is the light of the world
That shines forth in darkness
Whom He did not send into the world
To condemn the world
But that the world
Through Him might be saved
Whose birth was foretold
By the prophet Isaiah saying:
Behold a virgin will be with a Child
And bear a Son
And she will call His name Immanuel
For unto us a Child is born
Unto us a Son is given
And the government
Will rest upon His shoulders
And His name shall be called
Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God,
The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace
To the increase
Of His government and peace
There shall be no end
Therefore let us
Who are His children praise God
For bringing to its fullness
His prophetic Word
By sending His Son
In flesh
To save man
