We’re going to need more than just pastors in this space: doctors, counselors, lawyers, businessmen, parents. We need the Church, and the Church desperately needs the Holy Spirit.

What if the Church were at the forefront of helping our communities heal? What message would we send to our neighbors about how they might be able to find hope and community in Christ and in our churches?

Here are some real ways you can really help people who are homeless and trafficked in New Orleans today.

Prayer is an admission that everything we want to see done in our community is ultimately God’s work: salvation, freedom from sin, changed hearts and minds, true loving community. Those are all things He does. Or your part could simply be to support us through giving or purchasing the coffee or ceramics we sell. Volunteering through NAMB and SEND Relief really puts you on the ground in the midst of everything God is doing here. You can come for a week, a summer, or two years. Or just come build a home here, plant a garden. Come and stay. Email us, and we will help work out details.

There is no institution on earth more equipped and more capable of bringing transformation to the cause of reconciliation than the Church.
