THE FIRST ADVENT SUNDAY
(Focus on the Second Coming of Christ)

Let us praise God
For the coming of His Son, Jesus Christ
Who having come once as a Child
Will come again as a Judge
And His name shall be called
Faithful and True
The Word of God
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS

Therefore let us who are the children of light
And not the children of darkness
Sleep not as others do
But let us keep alert and be sober

As we anxiously await the Second Advent of
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
Who is the light of men
That shines forth in the darkness

The day and the hour of whose coming
Is known by no man,
Not even the angels, or the Son,
But by the Father alone

Who when He comes will judge
The quality of the deeds
Of the righteous with fire
Rewarding the faithful

Who when he comes will judge
The wicked according to their deeds
Casting them into the eternal lake of fire

Therefore let us abide in Him
So that when He comes
We may have confidence at His coming
And not shrink away from Him in shame
