Developing a Culture of Prevention

In the place of NOBA’s annual Spring Meeting this year, we’re hosting Safe Ministry Solutions–a survivor-centric church safety trainer–at First Baptist New Orleans on March 13th.  Safe Ministry Solutions will provide their expertise and certification course to any church in the region willing to come, free of cost.  Simply register online.  In partnership with Baptist Community Ministries, and the network of churches involved in their Congregational Wellness program, we’re inviting churches to bring their staff and childcare volunteers.  Our hope would be to develop a culture of prevention of abuse in all of our churches out of care for the people in our trust, and so our churches can stay on mission. On March 13, a morning session from 9am-noon will be geared toward pastors and church staff.  An evening session from 6-8pm will aim to prepare all of your church’s volunteers toward a culture of prevention.  This training is of a high value to kids ministry volunteers, youth workers, church staff, parents, and anyone regularly interacting with children or otherwise vulnerable populations.
