Baptist Collegiate Ministry got off to one of our best starts in many years. At UNO we were able to host several events to engage the student population. We had over 100 students attend a volleyball game night which allowed us to make new contacts and begin to share the Gospel with them and also what programs BCM had. At the first worship night of the year we had nearly 60 students show up in spite of the driving rain.
At Tulane & Loyola we had some of the best contacts made in many, many years. Over 80 students gave us their contact info indicating they had some interest in BCM. We quickly began following up with them and inviting them to participate in our many welcome week events. At our first worship gathering we had 58 students present and when the invitation was given that night 3 students responded and gave their life to Christ.
Then Hurricane Ida came and sent all of our students away for about a month. We maintained contact with our leaders and attempted a few online gatherings that were not well attended. Once the students began to arrive back in the city we mobilized a group of 30 to head to Lafitte, St. Rose, and LaPlace to do disaster relief. Our worship gatherings have resumed on both sides of town with less numbers than the start but we are hopeful they will build back up.
In spite of the challenge that Hurricane Ida has brought and the continuing challenges of COVID we are confident that the Lord is going to do some amazing things on the college campuses in NOLA. We appreciate your support and look forward to sharing with you an even more positive report in the Spring.

Journey On!
